"A New Beginning: An Educational Opportunity Created by Love World Missions"

After years of longing, Layla and many other children finally steps into a classroom , her heart full of excitement and gratitude. For so long, education felt like a distant dream, one she could only glimpse through the stories of others. But today, that dream is her reality through the help of Love world Missions International; A charity organization in Liberia that help provide educational opportunity to the underprevilage and less fortunate. Each book she holds, each lesson she learns, is a gift she cherishes deeply. The walls of the classroom, once mere symbols of hope, now echo with the sound of her newfound future.

Her path to this moment hasn’t been easy. For years, Layla had watched her peers attend school while she remained at home, her parents unable to afford the education she so desperately wanted. She spent her days helping at home or playing in the streets, but her mind always yearned for more. The spark of curiosity in her eyes never dimmed, even when the weight of lost opportunities seemed overwhelming.

But now, that spark is ignited. She knows this opportunity is rare, and she feels a deep sense of gratitude that she can now pursue her future with the tools she needs. The barriers that once held her back have crumbled, and in their place stands a path full of possibilities. She envisions herself one day helping others who, like her, had to wait for a chance. With every new lesson, her dreams grow larger. She dreams of becoming a teacher, a doctor, maybe even a leader who can inspire change.

Like Layla, many children in Palm Farm Community faced the same challenge: the lack of access to education. But now, that educational barrier has been broken, thanks to Love World Missions International, which established Love World School in this part of Liberia. Parents and children alike are overjoyed, knowing that hope has been restored for their kids, where everything once seemed unclear.

With determination in her eyes, Layla is filled with hope, knowing that education is not just her ticket to a brighter future, but also a way to give back to her community. She is ready to learn, to grow, and to make a difference. Each day she steps into school, she does so with the confidence that her future is no longer defined by what she lacked, but by what she can now achieve.

Little Vamah’s Story: A Cry for Love and Hope

One misty morning, as the sun barely kissed the horizon, ten-year-old Vamah Morris awoke to a day that would change his life forever. Living in a small village where his family survived on farming, Vamah had known struggle, but not the kind that was about to unfold. That morning, he headed to the family’s farm as usual, expecting nothing more than the familiar routine of helping his parents.

But what he encountered on that farm was beyond any child’s comprehension.

As Vamah approached, he saw his father pacing angrily, shouting at his mother with fury in his eyes. His mother, a kind woman who always protected him, stood her ground, pleading for calm. Then, in a chilling moment, Vamah heard his father’s voice thunder:

“I will kill you right here, right now, and I’ll do it in front of this boy!”

The Innocence Shattered

Confused and scared, little Vamah could not grasp the full meaning of his father’s words. “Kill” was not something he had ever associated with his family. He watched, frozen in fear, as his father’s anger spiraled into violence. In what felt like an eternity condensed into seconds, his father threw his mother to the ground.

Before Vamah could react, the unimaginable happened. His father attacked his mother with a knife, slashing and stabbing as the boy screamed in terror.

“Father, what are you doing? Stop hurting Mother!”

But his cries fell on deaf ears. His father, consumed by rage, turned to him and growled,

“If you move or make a sound, I’ll send you to the same place I’m sending her!”

That moment marked the end of Vamah’s innocence. As his mother’s lifeless body lay before him, the boy realized the horror of what had just transpired.

The Courage to Escape

With trembling legs and a heart pounding like a drum, Vamah made a decision. If he stayed, he might be next. Despite the fear, he mustered the courage to run. Tears streaming down his face, he bolted to the nearest village, his cries for help echoing through the trees.

The villagers, shocked and angered by his story, quickly organized a search party. They surrounded the area, hunting for his father, who was already trying to flee. It wasn’t long before they caught him and handed him over to the authorities. Vamah’s father was later sentenced to prison for his heinous crime.

But what about Vamah?

The Weight of Loss

At just ten years old, Vamah was now utterly alone. His mother was gone, his father imprisoned, and there were no relatives to step forward. The boy who once had a home filled with the warmth of his mother’s love now had no one to hold him, no one to tell him it would be okay.

The trauma of witnessing such violence haunted him. Nights became a battleground of nightmares, his mother’s final cries replaying in his mind. Days were filled with silence and loneliness, as he tried to make sense of a world that had taken everything from him.

A New Beginning at Love World Missions

When the news of Vamah’s plight reached Love World Missions, Pastor Blatey and Pastor Agnes knew they had to act. They had dedicated their lives to helping vulnerable children in the community, and Vamah’s story was a cry for help they couldn’t ignore.

Through the organization’s Child Sponsorship Program, they enrolled him at Love World School in Palm Farm, one of the mission’s institutions dedicated to providing education and care for orphaned and disadvantaged children.

At the school, Vamah found not just an education but also a safe haven. For the first time since that fateful day, he began to feel a sense of belonging. His teachers and classmates welcomed him with open arms, offering kindness that slowly started to fill the void in his heart.

Healing Through Love and Education

Adjusting to his new life wasn’t easy. The trauma still lingered, and there were days when he would retreat into silence, his eyes distant and his heart heavy. But the love and patience of the staff at Sheila Love School began to work wonders.

One of his teachers, Miss Clara, noticed his love for drawing and encouraged him to use it as a way to express his feelings. Over time, his sketches began to tell stories—of a family once whole, of a boy standing alone under a dark sky, and of a house with a glowing light symbolizing hope.

Slowly but surely, Vamah’s laughter returned. He made friends, began excelling in his studies, and even started dreaming about the future.

“I want to become a teacher,” he says now with a shy smile, “so I can help other children like me.”

The Bigger Picture

While Vamah’s story is one of unimaginable pain, it is also one of resilience, love, and the power of community. His journey highlights the urgent need to support children like him—children who have faced unimaginable hardships but still dream of a brighter tomorrow.

At Love World Missions, Vamah is just one of many children with stories of pain and survival. Each child carries a burden, but together, they are finding strength in the love and care provided by the mission.
